Monroe

Get started

Hire Monroe in 5 minutes.

Sign up, install the Slack (or Teams) app, connect one or two tools, ship your first task. Most teams have Monroe doing real work by the end of the trial day.

Step 1 — Sign up

Head to app.getmonroe.com/sign-up. Use Google, GitHub, Microsoft, or email — whichever your team already uses. You’ll add a card so the 14-day trial converts cleanly on day 15. We don’t charge until then; cancel anytime in the trial and the card is never touched.

On the next screen you’ll name your workspace and pick a rough team size. Both are easy to change later.

Step 2 — Pick your channel

Choose where Monroe lives: Slack or Microsoft Teams. You can do both, but pick one to start.

  • Slack: install link arrives immediately. One click, choose the channels Monroe can read, you’re live.
  • Microsoft Teams: we send your tenant admin a manifest install link. Approval takes 1–2 hours typically. While you wait, finish the rest of setup.

Step 3 — Connect a tool (or two)

Pick whichever two tools your team uses most. OAuth scoping means Monroe only sees what you grant — never the whole account.

The most-connected tools by new teams in their first day:

  • Google Drive — Monroe drafts and summarizes Docs; folder-level scoping by default.
  • GitHub — Monroe summarizes PRs, drafts release notes, never pushes without approval. Repo-level scoping.
  • HubSpot — Monroe researches accounts, drafts CRM notes, drafts follow-ups. Read-only by default; writes need approval.
  • Linear — Monroe picks up issue context, summarizes sprint state, drafts release notes. Read-only by default.

Need a tool not in the priority list? Add an MCP server. See MCP.

Step 4 — Set a spend cap

Defaults: Solo $1,200/mo, Team $3,000/mo, Business $7,500/mo (the hard ceiling on overage above your tier’s included credits). You can drop this lower during the trial — Monroe will pause and ask before exceeding it, every time. There’s no path where the agent silently burns through your budget.

See credits and billing for the math on what specific tasks cost.

Step 5 — Run your first task

From the channel Monroe is in, @-mention or DM with something real. Some starters that work well on day one:

  • “Monroe, summarize the last 24 hours of #customer-feedback”~120 credits. Pulls history, groups by theme, posts in-thread.
  • “Monroe, draft a follow-up to ACME from our meeting yesterday”~400 credits. Pulls meeting context (Gong/Fathom), drafts in your voice, you approve and send.
  • “Monroe, run the standup digest every Monday at 9am”~840 credits per run. Sets up a cron, runs forever, you can cancel from the dashboard.

Monroe posts a 2-line receipt in-channel after every completed task — what it did, what it touched, how many credits it cost. You can always inspect the full audit log in the dashboard.
