Get started
Hire Monroe in 5 minutes.
Sign up, walk the short setup wizard, check out, meet Monroe in Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email, ship your first task. Most teams have Monroe doing real work within the first hour.
Step 1: Sign up
Head to app.getmonroe.com/sign-up. Use Google, Slack, Microsoft, or email, whichever your team already uses. You’ll check out with Stripe at the end of setup (Step 5 below).
Step 2: Set up your workspace
On the first wizard screen you’ll name your workspace and pick a rough team size. Team size just tunes Monroe’s defaults, so a ballpark is fine. The workspace name is set once here and managed by your sign-in provider after setup, so use the firm name you want your team to see.
Step 3: Pick your channel
Choose where Monroe starts: Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email. The chat channels connect from your dashboard right after checkout; email is instant, nothing to install.
- Slack: after checkout, your dashboard has a one-click “Add Monroe to Slack” install. Approve the OAuth screen, invite Monroe to your channels, you’re live.
- Microsoft Teams: open the Channels page after checkout, choose Microsoft Teams, and sign in with your work Microsoft account; that sign-in binds your organization to your workspace. Then add Monroe to a team or chat, and it introduces itself and suggests the first task you picked. If your organization requires admin approval for new apps, an admin completes the sign-in.
- Email: nothing to install and nothing for IT to approve. The moment your workspace is ready, it gets its own Monroe email address and you’re already approved to write to it. CC or forward a deal thread, or send your first task straight from your inbox. See the email channel guide.
Step 4: Pick a tool (or two)
Pick whichever tools your team uses most. Your picks are saved with your workspace, and you connect each one from the dashboard. Start with the priority cards, then use the All apps tab for the 3,000+ catalog. Each connection asks only for the scopes Monroe needs, and comp-data providers use your own revocable API key.
Good first connections for a CRE team:
- Microsoft 365: Monroe works your Excel models and the deal docs in SharePoint.
- Google Drive: Monroe drafts and summarizes Docs; folder-level scoping by default.
- Box: Monroe reads the deal folder: OMs, rent rolls, T-12s. Folder-level scoping.
- HubSpot: Monroe researches accounts, drafts CRM notes, drafts follow-ups. Read-only by default; writes are drafted in-channel for your review first.
Need a tool not in the priority list? Search All apps on the Tools & data page in the dashboard. For private systems or custom APIs, see App connectors.
Step 5: Pick your first task, choose a plan, check out
The last two wizard screens: pick the first task Monroe should suggest once your channel connects, then confirm your plan and check out with Stripe. Billing is monthly or annual, your pick: monthly bills month to month at the list rate; annual bills 12 months up front at a discounted per-month rate. Both are shown on the plan step before you pay.
You don’t set a spend cap during signup. Your workspace starts at your tier’s default cap automatically: Solo $500/mo, Team $2,000/mo, Business $7,500/mo (the hard ceiling on overage above your tier’s included credits). After checkout, the workspace owner can raise or lower it anytime from the dashboard’s Billing & usage page, under Plans & credits, within your plan’s bounds. Monroe pauses at the cap, every time. There’s no path where the agent silently burns through your budget.
Once you check out, your workspace comes online in the background. The wait is usually a minute or two, then your dashboard walks you through connecting your channel. See credits and billing for the math on what specific tasks cost.
Step 6: Run your first task
During setup you picked a first task. Once Slack connects, Monroe sends a welcome DM that introduces itself and suggests that task, paste-ready. In Microsoft Teams, Monroe introduces itself and suggests your pick as soon as it’s added to a team or chat. On email, Monroe emails you when your address goes live, with your pick as the suggested first message: reply with it, or write to your Monroe address. Send it, or use /monroe in Slack with something real. Some starters that work well on day one:
- “Flag the risks in this rent roll”: ~120 credits. Reads the roll, flags expirations + below-market units, posts in-thread.
- “Draft the IC memo for the Lincoln Park deal”: ~400 credits. Pulls the model + OM, drafts in your template, you approve and send.
- “Post the pipeline status in #acquisitions every Monday at 9am”: ~840 credits per run. Sets up a recurring schedule; tell Monroe “stop the Monday pipeline post” to cancel it.
The work lands in your thread, and every run is logged in your dashboard (who asked, where, when) next to a live credit meter and per-day usage breakdown.
